  1. Hmmm, just a thought. My doctor told me that CHS didn't really start showing up until these higher potency strains of weed came to be. Could a higher level of CBD, and A LOT lower level of THC buds help in any way? For the people that feel like they just HAVE to smoke.

  2. I believe CHS is the body’s reaction to toxicity from too much THC built up in the system over time. With cannibis use, dosage is key. The only way to avoid CHS from occurring is to limit usage and take frequent and long breaks to allow the body to purge all of the THC so there’s no build up.

  3. STOP, if you moderate it you will develop serious health problems! trust me thats what happened to me, its not worth it! you will just destroy your health, the pain is so bad you will not want to live, i have failing kidneys, my feet swell up so bad i cant walk half the time my vision is half of what it was before i got sick from CHS, 60% of my hair fell out, with a list of many health problems,,, just stop for the love of GOD before you have to wake up every day in to a world of hell,,, all this happened from smoking weed,,, years of daily smoking/vaping/eating etc, i never did any other drugs, rarely drank & when i did it was beer, & never smoked cigarettes

  4. ZDogg! Thank you so much for all of your insight. I have suffered this condition and have been THC free for 6 days now. The easiest cure is to simply stop. I have shared this video with all of my doctors who have helped me through this and one important thing: The early on symptoms are loss of appetite in the morning. If I had known that my slight loss of appetite might lead to a hyperemetic episode then I would have stopped. Please do another episode on this syndrome because there are SO many people in Boulder, CO that are in denial and ER's and Primary Care's are being flooded with CHS patients. My PA said that CHS is the most common diagnosis for stomach issues in Colorado. Please continue to inform, love ya Zdogg.

  5. Amazing video. Very accurate. One caveat, taken out of context this video, plus many sources online that come up when you Google "Cannabis hyperemesis" indicate that this is a rare disorder that only occurs in extremely heavy cannabis users. The reality is this is just simple cannabis withdrawal that happens to most any long term user when they try to quit. It's not rare in the least. Smoke cannabis for 5 years or so and try to quit you should expect this experience.

  6. I have suffered for 10 years, my body is destroyed off chs, once am sick i tent to smoke a lot more weed also which doesn’t help, I have been in hospital numerous times, once they know it’s due to weed they don’t really care, I have once been told to go home and just get in the bath from a doctor

  7. I found my stomach aches, spasms, and cramps were in my diet. I had to eliminate Bread, Cake, Donuts, essentially all WHITE FLOUR breads or gravy's !! Also, YEAST!! There's YEAST in all of these and elsewhere!! Spaghetti, Beer, even VITAMINS have YEAST. Gluten intolerant? Lactose Intolerant? Sprayed from the sky, poisons are IN THE GRAIN. Animals feed has grains in it, so the ANIMALS have poison too, as does THEIR MILK. No Milk! No Yeast! No Soy! NO MORE PROBLEMS. They're rationalizing air poisoning.

  8. Thanks for posting this and allowing me to learn more about a condition i've dealt with for a few years. I posted a video recently about my CHS story and what i went through.

  9. I never comment on YT, but this hit me right in the heart!! Thank you for all of the CHS information. I really hope more medical professionals learn how to spot this syndrome. I smoked ALOT every single day for the last 11-12 years. A few years ago I started having these INSANE vomiting episodes with no explanation that would last for up to 3 weeks at a time. Completely put me in the fetal position… Couldn't even hold down water for more than about 5 minutes. Other times I would throw up a couple of times and it would go away. Other times I was just nauseous for no reason and would have to sit down and breathe deep to get it to subside. No Dr in Utah (lol) has ever been able to give me an explanation, killing my trust in the medical World. About 2 years ago, my brother presented me with an online article outlining CHS, and of course I was in denial. After years of the sickness I finally started to believe. A couple of months ago I completely went sober (after being deathly sick for 2 weeks and losing 20 pounds). I have to say, I'm feeling great and haven't been nauseous AT ALL. Weed is cool, but being clearheaded and not throwing up for no reason is WAAAYYYY COOLER!!! I wish I had accepted the truth sooner because CHS is so insanely miserable I felt like shooting myself in the head. Keep spreading the word, this sickness is very fucking real.
Thanks again for the video, and I also think you should meet up with Joe Rogan and talk about CHS in detail.

  10. Can you ever smoke again? Maybe micodosing? i know i have it. showers are the only thing to stop it i was in and out the hospital for 8 days and lost 14 pounds because of it and a nurse said you dont have to stop but have to cut back a lot and only smoke every now and again rarely. i dont want to chance it but at the same time it helps with my stress and its how i use to unwind i dont drink or anything but was wondering if micodosing could work ??

  11. I suffered from CHS twice now… I had extreme abdominal pain and nausea.. stopped consuming THC for about a year and a half and all symptoms were gone throughout that time.. As soon as I felt better I thought it would be a great idea to smoke again.. After 2 years of smoking again Symptoms started back up and man it was the worst pain ever.. it went on for about 3 weeks and After visits to the ER and everything checked out normal I figured it was the THC again so I had to stop again.. Man I don't wish this upon anyone.. I lost about 18 pounds by not eating in that time due to abdominal pain and nausea. So if you're suffering the same symptoms and not sure what it is and you consume THC more than likely you have CHS. It took about 2 weeks after quitting for everything to go back to normal.

  12. Thanks man. Just got diagnosed in the ER a week ago!!!! I’m a 25 year old male tired of waking up in the morning feeling pregnant lol!!!!!!! But yeah something about the hot showers really does help but this ain’t a sustainable lifestyle. Time to make a change I guess!!!

  13. My boyfriend is going through this right now, his been in and out of hospital all week and we think that it is this Syndrome as the doctors dont seem to have any idea why he is the pain he is in.

Although he gave up pretty much straight away a week in he is still has allot of lower stomach pain.

Has anyone had it where the pain starts in the lower chest/upper intestine and moved down to the pelvic area????

  14. I suffer from this condition for the last few years, only recently have i come to terms with it and fully stopped consuming cannabis… some of the hardest weeks in my life but i am working on making my body healthier and getting back on track.. Thank you so much for making this video and spreading awareness about this condition!

  15. Great video, very clear and informative. I was able to identify my CHS in the prodrome period and have quit cannabis completely and all symptoms have gone away. Thanks to the internet and videos like this one I was able to figure this out when otherwise it may have taken years to figure out and may have progressed to those further stages. Also was relieved that it was not some more serious condition as I had feared.

  16. This makes you want to fucking die. It’s is horrific. Only someone who has experienced this knows the agony. I sometimes get anxiety and tear up exposing how bad the pain gets to someone else. When you’re actively committing is the only time you get any kind of relief. Then when you stop you are in incredible amounts of pain until you vomit again and the cycle continues for hours- sometimes days.

  17. One point you might want to add. It can be extremely hard for many people to stop smoking weed when experiencing CHS because smoking weed gives temporary relief of symptoms. So they smoke to feel better temporarily, but they are just making the problem worse and extending their symptoms. This seems to be very common in people with CHS (They hurt so bad they feel that they must smoke for short term relief).

  18. I get this once every 3 weeks and it stays about 3 – 5 days of vomitting every 5-10 minutes. And it even causes insane respiratory attackd where i cant breathe for like half a hour its very very scary. They need to find an E pen or somthing for this. Been smoking 13 yrs and its too hard to stop.

  19. The reasoning behind seemingly illogical actions can be hard to grasp. Thank you for taking the cognitive energy to have empathy for the people who are effectively medicating something in their life with cannabis. I'd be fascinated to find out if edibles or concentrates cause CHS at the same rates? Also wondering if fat store releases might intensify symptoms as those cannabinoids are chemically different and cause different effects.

  20. Great video… @ZDoggMD I have recently been diagnosed with CHS by my GI. During the multiple tests that were run on me before my diagnosis, one of them was a Gastric Emptying Study, which confirmed that I also have Gastroparesis. My question is this, if I continue to abstain from cannabis, will my Gastric Emptying Time go back to what it once was before my overuse of THC products? Or will I now be stuck with Gastroparesis for life? Thanks guys… stay strong!!

  21. nika stop f as round cuz it's neem oil this doing this shit okay you got a fucking look up your fucking history of dumbass you didn't see no case of this in the seventies right okay then now people start putting testifies on it so has to be too fucking neem oil that you guys at fuck you made it legal to use for those fucking places where they give you weed so I don't know why the fuk you guys saying is h h p s so I don't know why the fuk you guys saying

  22. I'm previous military, and have a degenerative nerve disease. I was so excited about getting out of the military, medical retirement, to actually try MM. First day officially out, I tried a small amount. Oooooo NO! I got sick and yacked everywhere. Just doesn't work for me. Haven't tried edibles yet. Maybe a slower milder means may work. I just want to get off some of my meds.

  23. Super interesting vlog. RN here…I had a patient with this syndrome and almost nothing helped. This patient had compazine, zofran, reglan, Tigan nothing helped. Until a few days being in the hospital did the medication started to work but very little. But I didn’t think of hot baths, interesting. Now I know next time how to educate my patient better on this topic. Thanks ZDogg

  24. ER nurse here. In my experience ER docs tend to fall back on this as a sort of catch all diagnosis when a patient who smokes the reefer daily comes in with uncontrollable vomiting. Even if it is an isolated event.
Sometimes a pot head just has a viral syndrome or food poisoning just like everyone else.

  25. If you are awarding continuing ed credit, you are going about it the wrong way. As a behaviorist educator, you should first list all the questions you want someone to answer demonstrating they got out of your vid what you intended before you start the presentation and then have a web site they can go to to answer test questions to validate learning.
