A Guide to…WEED Control! Farming Simulator 19, PS4. Tutorial. Pesky weeds giving you trouble? Then look no further than this helpful guide to weed control.

  1. Based on game updates and changes, you can weed with a weeder past stage 1 BUT, you WILL destroy your crops. Preventative spraying "sort of" works meaning if you spray immediately after seeding or planting and the weeds will NOT sprout at all. Herbicide is COMPLETELY INEFFECTIVE with full grown weeds once the crop is fully ready for harvest. DEAD WEEDS EFFECT crop yield in game. Finally, planting grass next to a crop field simultaneously will result in weeds in the grass when spouted that cannot be removed in game based on a calculation bug,

  2. good video as normal very enjoyable to watch and pretty full of info HOWEVER one thing that is NOT realistic about the sprayer is on grass type plants such as wheat they are in the same family as weeds so the sprayer would really kill the crop aswell as the weeds

idk about beans corn that stuff but im pretty sure grass family plants it will kill because i had a 10acre crop of weat last year irl and used a weed killer on it and it killed my crop and i was kinda pissed because i had put about 5k usd in some seed and a small planter and stuff and instead of making my own wheat it killed it and i lost 5k not that big of a deal because i had 30k saved up for it but it still hurt to pretty much throw 5grand out the window

  3. I’ve found that if you kill the weeds either weeder or spraying after sowing they don’t grow back. If you try killing them before sowing they just come back again afterwards. I’ve tested this a few times and I only have to spray/weed once. Hopefully this helps.

  4. I had an unusual situation last night, I had a field of soybeans. It had fully grown weeds in the last dark green growth stage of the soybeans crop.

So the 4th dark green stage..

I killed the weeds with herbicide, but the dead weeds still seen inside the crop…
My yield was normally around 5,500 litres, but once I harvested said field my yield was reduces by 3 thousand litres for some reason.

I'm wondering if I needed to kill the weeds at an earlier stage of the soybeans growth.

  5. You get a penalty of -15% yield if you use herbicide btw, but its better than the -20% you'd get if you left the weeds alone, so its always better to kill them with the weeder. Also added tip dont forget to do two fertilizing sessions per field, its best to do this with a planter that applies solid fertilizer if youre feeling lazy or if you wanna decrease cost applying slurry or manure before they sprout, additionally the only vehicles capable of crossing growing fields while crop destruction is turned on is the sprayer and tractors equipped with field tires, semi trailers and trailers cannot switch to these tires so its important to remember while playing with crop destruction, so if your crops are already growing and you need to weed them or fertilize them a sprayer is the way to go.. most cost effective is manure or slurry though since you can make it yourself with some cow pies and such

Ive noticed what the AI like to do is let the weeds grow on freshly plowed fields then weed them before sowing, since they only usually ever appear once per harvest, if you speed up growth however it can bug out and grow twice in a single harvest

  6. Can you not use the mechanical weeder on a field if you have crops growing? I had two fields sowed with the plants grown to the last green stage in the status map, then the little baby weeds popped up and I tried to use the weeder but it won't remove them, no matter how many times I drive over the field. The only way I could destroy them was to use a sprayer filled with herbicide. I'd have thought regardless of crop growth state, the weeder should be able to remove weeds in their first growth stage.

  7. Mr. Sealy P first off I love all your videos they're awesome and please keep up the amazing work. Second: you can pull weeds out in the first and second growth stages of the crop as long as the weeds are in their first growth stage. Just felt it a worthy addition to the guide. Love you work love the videos and keep them coming.

  8. what I have noticed on weed control is that sometimes the weeds grow TWICE in a full growth cycle. I think (although not full tested) that this depends on when the first cycle started. So for example, on one field I had weeds growing before I had even finished seeding. Well later that field had not only a full set a weeds but it also had those weeds right when the field matured. I watched my fields closely for this education and I think its fair to say that there will be times (regardless of game speed) in which you will have to spray because those weeds will just magically pop up at the wrong time.

  9. I know this doesn't pertain to weeding, but in another video you mentioned how the condition of the equipment was off. I just used the Lemken Titan 2 for 1.8 hours and it was completely broke, $486 to repair it. And that was only one field.
