Here is what PBM's do and who they work for and it is NOT US the Patients they work for According to the American Pharmacists Association, "PBMs are primarily responsible for developing and maintaining the formulary, contracting with pharmacies, negotiating discounts and rebates with drug manufacturers, and processing and paying prescription drug claims.
PBM's are NOT the answer to Lowering Prescription Costs at all . They just work for the Drug Companies instead of the Patients .If PBM's really worked why then are we paying as much as 10 TIMES more for our Prescriptions here in the USA as compared to Countries that have Universal Health Care Systems run on a Single Payer System ? I can tell you from my Personal Experience that I JUST Started SAVING HUNDREDS of Dollars on my Prescriptions by BUYING Them in Canada
PROFIT for Hospitals is NOT what they are supposed to be DOING . I am old enough to remember when Hospitals ran on a NOT for profit basis and Served the PATENTS NOT STOCK HOLDERS . Under the Current FOR PROFIT PRIVATE Health Care system we have Hospitals Closing and that is HARMING PATIENTS . We lost Oho Valley Hospital up here in the Northern Panhandle and the Very same COMPANY Owned the Fairmont Hospital . We also LOST East Ohio Regional Hospital up here as well. The FOR PROFY SYSTEM IS THE PROBLEM
